Who is responsible for your information

hitmeup.studio is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. If you have a question about privacy or want to exercise your data-protection rights, email matt@hitmeup.studio.

What we collect

If you use the hitmeup! enquiry box, we collect the email address you choose to provide. If you then contact or work with us, we may also receive the information you choose to provide in later emails or conversations, such as your name, business details and information about your project.

The website is hosted using ChatGPT Sites, provided by OpenAI. As part of hosting, security and operation of the Site, OpenAI may process technical information associated with visits and requests. ChatGPT Sites also provides site-level traffic analytics, including page views and unique visitors.

How we use your information

We use enquiry information only to respond to you, discuss what you need, provide or prepare services you ask about, and manage any resulting client relationship.

We do not add enquiry email addresses to a newsletter or marketing list unless we introduce one in future and you separately choose to sign up.

Our lawful basis

When you contact us about our services, we process your information because it is necessary to respond to your request and, where relevant, to take steps at your request before entering into a contract. We may also rely on our legitimate interests in responding to genuine business enquiries and managing our business communications.

Who processes your information

We use a small number of service providers to operate this website and handle enquiries:

OpenAI / ChatGPT Sites provides the website hosting and related Site infrastructure and analytics.

Resend provides the transactional email service that sends your website enquiry to matt@hitmeup.studio. Resend processes email addresses, message information and delivery logs as needed to provide that service. Resend states that email and log data on its free plan is retained for 30 days and that its primary data processing takes place in the United States, using safeguards for UK and European data transfers.

Your enquiry will also be held in our business email inbox once it has been delivered.

How long we keep information

We keep ordinary enquiries only for as long as reasonably needed to respond and follow up. Enquiries that do not become client work will normally be deleted within 12 months of the last meaningful contact.

If you become a client, relevant correspondence and records may be kept for longer where needed to provide the service, maintain business or accounting records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations.

Resend's own service retention is described above.

Cookies and similar technologies

We do not intentionally use advertising cookies, marketing pixels, profiling tools, Google Analytics or Meta Pixel on this website.

The current Site does not add its own non-essential cookies, localStorage or sessionStorage for tracking. ChatGPT Sites may use technical or operational technologies required to host, secure and operate the Site.

At launch, we do not use a cookie consent banner because we have not added non-essential tracking technology that requires consent. If the technology used by the Site changes, we will review this and add consent controls where required.

Your rights

UK data-protection law may give you rights over your personal information, including rights to ask for access, correction or deletion, to restrict or object to certain processing, and in some circumstances to receive a copy of your information.

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how your information is handled.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice if the way the website or our services handle personal information changes. The latest version will always be published on this page.
